Applause for Syubbanul Akhyar's Performance at BOZAR's Sufi Night, Brussels, 29 September 2012

More than than 2.000 people who attended "Sufi Night" at BOZAR on September 29, 2012 were captivated by the performance of marawis music group from Jakarta, Indonesia, Syubbanul Akhyar. Performing 3 songs and a zamin dance in front of more than 2.000 audiences who crowded one of the best concert halls in Europe, Syubbanul Akhyar has successfully managed to show the development and richness of sufi music in Indonesia. The group seamlessly and beautifully blended Indonesian traditional musical instrument into the arrangement of their music.

ASEM: Still Relevant After All These Years?

On 27 September 2012 at GIZ Office Brussels, Ambassador Oegroseno appeared as one of the speakers of the Friends of Europe seminar "ASEM: Still Relevant After All These Years?" along with Thomas Roe (ASEM Counsellor at the EEAS), Ambassador Vangelis Vitalis (New Zealand Ambassador to the EU, NATO and Sweden), and Hideaki Kuramitsu (Director of the European Policy Division and Asia-Europe Cooperation Division, MOFA Japan).


 

Hanns Seidel Stiftung Roundtable Discussion: Education for Sustainable Development - A View on Indonesia

Ambassador Arif Havas Oegroseno appeared as speaker at the Hanns Seidel Stiftung Roundtable Discussion entitled “Education for Sustainable Development – A view on Indonesia” in Brussels on 20 September 2012. He highlighted the important role of Indonesia in its contribution to the global agenda of sustainable development and climate change. Ilyas Asaad, Indonesian Deputy Minister for Environment and Seamus Gillespie, Head of Unit for Southeast Asia of the European External Action Service were also present to present their views on the topic.

On August 23-25, 2012, Wijnegem Shopping Center, Wijnegem hosted an integrated promotion of Indonesian trade, culture and tourism titled “Indonesian Day”. The event was held by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brussels in cooperation with the management of Wijnegem Shopping Center, supported by Indonesian and Belgian private sectors.
